His journey began in sunny South Florida, where he developed a passion for art through acrylic painting, drawing, and mixed media. Even while pursuing a nursing career, caring for diverse patients, art remained a vital outlet, helping him find peace in nature. Together with his wife, who shares his love for adventure, Mitch embraced travel nursing, immersing himself in various cultures and artistic traditions. These experiences broadened his creative perspective and enriched his artistic vocabulary, introducing him to new environments and wildlife. As a certified diver, Mitch has encountered remarkable marine life firsthand, allowing these experiences to inspire his captivating works.

Peg Phenicie is a coastal artist known for capturing the beauty, power, and peacefulness of the ocean and Florida’s natural world. Her oil paintings blend movement and calm, inviting viewers to reflect on the deep connection between people and nature.

Peg first painted in the late 1960s and early 1970s before her path led her into service and science. A US Navy Veteran, she built a long career in the medical field and as a Mechanical Designer. She studied at the University of Connecticut, earning her BS while taking both art and Pre‑Med/Pre‑Vet courses, later returning to complete her engineering degree. Just before retiring, she rediscovered her passion for painting and returned to it with renewed joy.

Her inspiration traces back to childhood walks in the forests and fields of Connecticut with her grandmother, who taught her to notice the beauty in every leaf, flower, and insect. After years shaped by war, pain, and loss, Peg’s children and grandchildren helped rekindle her desire to create. Today, she shares her artwork at local shows and Howard Allen events along the East Coast, painting to pass on the memories and beauty that shaped her life.
